Hi Folks
I am not sure as to whose points I may be replying to on this occasion.
I am afraid, I do not see myself as a Goan in the first instance as Selma
and Gabe do and this may be rather odd in my case. Mentally, in the wider
context in a very diverse UK, I see myself as an Indian, originating from
Goa rather than a Goan from India. Rightly or wrongly, I have a thing about
the claim by many a Goan that distances him/her intentionally or
unintentionally from being Indian. I am afraid my 'Indianess' is greater
than my 'Goaness' even though I am often very critical of many things
Indian, let alone, Goan. In Goan company, I am an excellent Goan but in
very mixed company, I am happy to emphasise being an Indian and I do not
find this problematical at all.
