Dear Vivian, Thank you for sharing your experiences in the US. Things have not changed so much since then. People by and large are still ignorant of India but the US is very insular and unaware of any country or culture beyond their own shores. They have however grudgingly come to respect Indians and think of them as more than emaciated images staring at them from their television sets.
