Hi Carmo, I lived in Bandra (Pali hill) from 1975 to 1990, I too have not seen any goan/east Indian rivalries at that time, wether it was the church sqaure, school grounds, weddings, feasts, tiatrs, Santan's (Dukar marya) or the chimbai joints :). In fact both have now come closer thru inter-community marriages.
While on this subj, I am sure you heard of another Goan in Bandra...late Oliver Andrade, I think he was from Velim (tollecanto). He was Physical instructor and the hockey trainer of St. Theresa's High school. He aIso trained St. Stanislaws for some years. He left sports activites and later joined politics to be the only Goan Corporator in Bandra. Oliver Andrade is brain behind the popular 'Joggers Park' next to Otter's Club' at Carter road Bandra.
