Hi Aristo
I read your exchange with Selma and Sunith with much interest. Like many
others I had to climb to where I eventually got to as deputy head and then
acting Head of a large university department in the UK, when this was
virtually unknown for an ethnic minority person in a highly competitive
environment, the hard way. The single most important lesson I learnt, but
incredibly late in my career unfortunately, was the need to be politically
astute and single-minded. I believe this pays much more than all the hard
work one might invest in!
Cheers
Cornel
