Many thanks to the donors, volunteers, supporters of the World G.O.A.N. network
who assisted Goa
Sudharop in becoming a co-sponsor of the "Vidya Vikas Academy" (Margao) senior
citizens function
on Nov 18. This is consisten with Goa Sudharop's theme this year: YEAR OF THE
SENIOR.
A full report will follow. VVA is having an open air program in a new public
garden called Ana
Fonte, near the BPS club, Margao on Novemeber 18th. The garden has been
recently inaugurated, and
it has a stage which is used for cultural programmes or events that will
benefit the public.
The school kids are putting up a show for Senior citizens - "Down Memory Lane".
It is a variety
entertainment of songs - English oldies, old Hindi film songs, etc. They are
also felicitating 5
seniors - unknown people who deserve to be acknowledged (for example a 80 year
old craftsmen who
does pottery). They are also having many spot prizes for the audience.
The crowd will mostly be grandparents of the students. Other invitees include
clergy from the Old
Priests clergy home and members of the Margao Provedoria, which is opp the new
Ana Fonte garden.
