Dear Nasci,
Kind of you to ask. I have come across these "old,
established Indian families", who've never made any
genuine attempts to befriend us.
However, during the course of my life, fate decided
that I would have a natural aptitude for the English
language, thanks in part to my school. Being able to
converse fluently in English with good diction has
opened up many doors for me and I've made so many
wonderful friends here ranging from American-Asians,
American-Germans and American-Americans. I've also
made friends with other Indian guest-worker families
as a result of my husband's close working relationship
with them.
America is a wonderful country and living here albeit
transiently, has been an education indeed.
