Selma,
First of all, you have not answered Nasci's question but nicely
skirted around it. No problem, I like English diplomacy, tact and
understatement myself.

Second of all, the common terminology for the heritages you mentioned
should have been Asian-American and German-American not the other way
around. Personally I don't like hyphenations when referring to
nationalities. When people ask me "where are you from", I say Toronto.
Then they fumble and ask "but which country are you from?" I then say
"Canada". They will never get an answer until they ask me the right
question "what is your heritage?" Bingo, I say "Indian" or "Goan". The
clever ones of course don't have to ask. They know it from my skin and
manner of talking which will never get to be 100% Canadian. About
which of course I have never had any problem with diminishing of
self-esteem, like some Goans who call themselves Portuguese or
anything but Indian.

Third of all, what is American-American?

Kindly, Roland.
