No, Alfred, I did not forget Jacko. However, I
decided it made little sense to cite ONE person like
Jacko out of perhaps 100 million brown or black
Americans, who chooses to be like millions of
Indians:-)) Let's not forget that African-Americans
as a community are proud to call themselves "black",
not "wheatish".

I know Mario; was just ribbing you.

But about the pride you mention I have lived with it for
the better part of the past half-a-century: I was in the
very thick of the Black Panthers movement, Sweden being
the only country that openly, and officially, supporting
their cause; and, indeed, giving all possible moral and
generous stipendiary support support to Vietnam
deserters.

As well as to FNL, MPLA, FRELIMO, UNITA, POLISARIO
and so on...

That was thanks to Olof Palme´s great heart and courage.

Posting an recent article on the non-progress of the
badly mangled investigation in his tragic assassination:

Olof Palme murder mystery may be solved after 20 years
By Alfred de Tavares, Indo-Asian News Service

Stockholm, Nov 22 (IANS) -- The 20-year old Olof Palme murder enigma may be finally resolved. A new weapon-find, at the bottom of a lake in northern Sweden, is expected to unravel the mystery that has baffled investigators, and world at large, since the tragic killing of the former prime minister - who shared a close rapport with then Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi - on the night of Feb 28, 1986.

The murder of the internationally active and politically pragmatic Swedish politician has been attributed to various major global issues of the closing years of the past century - among them India's Bofors weapons´ bribe scandal, the Swedish contribution towards the collapse of apartheid in South Africa and the fate of the Kurdish aspirations in the Iran-Iraq-Turkey triangle.

The scoop revealed Tuesday was carried out by an investigative team of journalists of the Swedish daily Expressen.

In an exclusive interview to IANS, Olof Palme´s eldest son and spokesperson for the family, Joakim Palme, said: "We hope that this find may finally lay to rest the cause of my papa´s murder. I can assure you that my father would never have done any action to harm causes he held holy in India and elsewhere in the world".

The weapon, a Smith & Wesson magnum revolver, was recovered from a lake by the Expressen reporter-spooks after many failed attempts by official agencies.

The lake in question had been disclosed, as a repository of the gun, in a death-bed confession by a notorious Swedish under-world mafia don. He had supplied it to the perpetrator and largely helped in his escape schemes.

Expressen´s find has been handed over to the investigators and is being analysed at the world-famous Swedish forensic unit in Linkoping, south of Stockholm, the Swedish capital.

The verification will depend if the revolver´s firing patterns matches the grooves in the two bullets used in the fatal assassination found by an Indian journalist, a couple of hours later, and by a passer-by 30 hours thereupon.

Although a hit-man, Christer Petterson, was held, tried, sentenced and acquitted, against the sustained visual evidence of Olof Palme´s wife Lisbet and son Marten, the Swedish police have, to date, not convinced the nation and world that they have done their best.

Cover-up theories, conspiracy in weapons´ smuggling and socialist-nurtured capers have been randomly used by speculators to nail this crime.
