Helga do Rosario Gomes wrote to Selma: "From the time you were laid on that table in Ribandar?!!!"
Now I think Helga has misunderstood what Selma originally said. She claimed to have been delivered on this table in Ribandar, not laid. Eggs get laid, humans get delivered. Now Santosh's query regarding delivery takes another view. Could Santosh, considering his age, have delivered Selma's mother of Selma or did he deliver Selma of her child? Deliver: To give birth to: She delivered a baby boy this morning. To assist (a woman) in giving birth: The doctor delivered her of twins. To assist or aid in the birth of: The midwife delivered the baby. The future of Goa depends on the answer to this cryptogram. Did Helga mean laid? Is Santosh insinuating that he could have delivered Selma or was there a mid-wife? How does Cornel fit in the picture? Would the delivery have it have been done more hygienically in Toronto, thus suggesting that Selma/Selma's mother loves her child less than Roland loves his children in Toronto? I have an idea for a Semi-Fiction Documentary with the Table in Ribandar being central to the plot. Like the Da Vinci Code and the centrality of the painting of The Last Supper. Cheers!
