http://www.goa-world.com/expressions/xmas/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Folks, Everyone but everyone is invited for the Goa Sudharop raffle draw which will be held at my place on December 15th. When I say everyone, also included is the guy who left a message on my answering machine claiming that he, the one with the never humble opinion, will show up. As you know, we are going to sing Christmas carols on that night. We are taking requests! This year the requests are for free. Next year, carols will be sung for the highest bidder. After the draw is the party. The party is to celebrate every one of you who helped in raising funds for Goan causes. Even though (perhaps because?) I said food, drinks and music would be on me, some people came up with the idea of having a pot luck. As such, I have informed those who want to bring a dish to do so only if that dish can: a) please the discriminate Goan taste bud and b) has presentational value, as I will post a picture of the same on the web. Next, I need your help on what drinks to serve the revellers. I have at my disposal: 1) The most expensive caju feni in the world. Cecil knows what I am talking about. Every Xmas I send my brother-in-law tons of electronics and in return I get, so I am told, two bottles of the hardest to find caju feni from Siolim. 2) The second drink choice for the revellers is the hardest to find liquor in Canada. 3) The third choice is what every Goan smells from 20 ft away. The musicians. Ah! The musicians! I have the finest guitarist in the world for sing alongs. I also have the webmaster of the Tanzanite net who is both a guitar and keyboard player. I have the all the top prize donors, some of whom insist on bringing their instruments. Then I have my sweet and gentle wife. Yes, the one who drives people crazy with her singing. I have donations that we could not use for the raffle due to Canadian laws. One of the donations is "Rolfe's Goan Sausages." Am going to use these donations to feed the guests. If any of you see Rolfe Fernandes at the BMX events, ask him for his recipe. I also have Canadian made mango pickle, tendli pickle, and prawn balchow that is second to none. Most importantly, I have a big THANKS to each and everyone of you you took either the time or effort to contribute to the raffle. Lastly, since we have ample time to properly organize the next Goa Sudharop fund raiser, please be ready for a bigger and better fund raiser next year.
