My Dear Roland
I don't seek to deny that the picture-perfect image of
Goa promoted through colourful tourism brochures is
too fantastic to be true. Goa is changing and the
emerging Goa is not something to feel entirely good
about.
But discerning Goans are doing their bit at various
levels to stem the rot. Overseas Goans also notice the
rot setting-in in blessed Goa but the way some
overseas Goans choose to respond varies. Many of them
are even silently doing their bit.
I personally strongly object to people who love to go
in the advice-mode from an illusory high-pedestal
treating us resident Goans as some sort of dim-witted
morons who have gone into a deep slumber and need
waking up.
Man if you still have the Goan blood doing the rounds
in your veins and you truly love Goa, do something
concrete. ($10 bit for your advocate want help) Even
then dont forget to expect some wrinkles on your
motherland on you return home after a few decades.
We dont need conceited advisors dear Roland? But some
doers at home and abroad could help change the dark
spots on Goa if not the wrinkles.

I will grant you that you have, in your infallible
wisdom, seen whatever there is to see. Great! I wonder
if they have some sort of award for the
self-proclaimed been-everywhere-seen-it-all guys like
you.
I have not seen much in the time I have walked this
earth, but let me tell you what I saw last night: I
saw a white-skinned master flogging his slave and
shouting, you coloured pig, why cant you polish my
shoes properly for once.
