Dear Anthony Barreto aka Tony Martin,

Please take a kilo chocolate cake from a Margao bakery, a bottle of
the usual liquor best enjoyed by Ballu Pundi Velip and a bouquet of
flowers and deliver them to him with an envelope containing Rs.500.

Tell him it is from someone in Canada who appreciates his unfurling
and lowering the Indian flag and his services to the Poinguinim
(wherever that is) panchayat for those long and faithful years. A
Christmas gift, perhaps.

I shall send you the money by Paypal. It is most convenient, costs you
no fees and all you have to do is set up an account. (www.paypal.com).
Or a bank draft if you will, though that will take a much longer time.

Please confirm you will do this and the amount I need to send. Thank
you in anticipation.

Cheers,
Roland.

Balu's Life - A Mockery of Freedom.
Meet Ballu Pandu Velip. He is not your archetypal great man.
He has not won any gold medals.
Forty one years of freedom has not changed much, he says on an emotional note.
He retired after 37 years with not a single penny to take home in
retirement funds.
For all his dedication and steadfast commitment, this exceptional man
was not felicitated with as much as a bouquet by the Poinguinim
panchayat.
Tony Martin.
