Hi Filomena
I am afraid I have to disagree with your comment to Albert below
that..."even though we are on different religious paths [religion] is the
only one that can unite mankind and bring us peace."
There is absolutely no historical evidence that religions unite mankind and
bring forth peace. Rather, there is much evidence that religions, are highly
divisive and have generated tensions and many wars
between peoples and continue to do so.
Religious people tend to attribute the above historical fact, not to
religion per se but to man's misinterpretation of religion. However, my
contention, for argument's sake is that, if there were no religions in the
first place, (which can and do provide internal cohesion and spiritual need
generally), there would be no misinterpretations attributable to religion
either!
Men/women have invented a number of religions but such religions have tended
to get the better of them when it comes to seeking accommodation with
religions of other groups. I would therefore advocate universal humanism
instead. Do let me know what you think of this idea.
Kind regards and compliments of the season.
Cornel
