The following written by me was published today 19th December 2006 in the
local Arab Times of Kuwait. I take this opportunity to reproduce it in this
forum for the goanetters to read it.

" 19th December is the 45th anniversary of the end of Portuguese rule in Goa
after 461 years of colonialisation of Goa. It was early in the morning on
previous day my father wearing a short and a vest was standing next to the
road close to my house. An Indian military convoy was passing on the road
going to capture the top citadel of Portuguese military known as Aguada
which was in my locality only. Seeing my father, the officer of the
military convoy stopped and asked my father why you are wearing a banyan?
Dont worry, you Goans are intentionally kept poor by the Portuguese regime
in Goa but henceforth you will not remain poor but your lifestyle will
change for the best. An ignorant of real lifestyle of people in other parts
of Bharat my father came home shouting slogans Jai Hind! Nehru Zindabad and
Salazar Murdabad". He came and told us at home that now onwards Heavenly
Mannas will fall not only on every Sabbath Day but also on everyday. The
next day Goa was declared as liberated by the mighty Indian military power
that swarmed Goa from all sides of course without taking prior opinion of
the Goans who should have been consulted. This was the view of senior Goans
who also felt that Goa had to get rid of Portuguese colonialisation but in
the bargain Goa should not have been colonized by New Delhi. According to
senior Goans there was no need to hastily arrange the military operation to
invade Goa by Bharati mighty army consisting of around 20 thousand soldiers
backed by powerful air and sea power against just 5000 Portuguese soldiers.
Krishna Menon as defense Minister of India fooled Nehru who on the
insistence of American President John F. Kennedy asked Menon to stop
marching Indian military into Goa until further instruction but Menon lied
Nehru saying Indian military has already set foot on Goan soil when actually
it did not. In the UN Soviet Russia vetoed USs proposal of halting the
invasion of Goa by Bharat. Finally, by using Himsa violence against
the principle of Ahimsa Non-Violence - preached by the father of the
Indian Nation Mahatmah Gandhi, Goa as satated by political scientists, was
invaded by Bharat Once after the independence of India some Goan freedom
fighters settled in Bombay approached Mahatmah Gandhi for his help to
liberate Goa from Portuguese colonialism. For them Gandhiji replied thus
You want liberation from Portuguese? Why? I am afraid that after Portuguese
leave you may be ruled by Delhi Portuguese. Very prophetic words of
Gandhiji and rightly he was called Mahatmah. Goas domination by the
Portuguese could have been sorted out peacefully if Nehru Government in
Delhi was not in hurry. In the name of fake liberation Goa was actually
invaded or conquered, to use the official term, by the Indian Government
headed by Nehrus Congress Party which Goans in vast majority refused to
accept. For this reason as a punishment to Nehru and his Congress for
annexing Goa forcibly, in the first ever general election in Goa Nehrus
Congress was totally humiliated when every Congress candidate was
disgracefully defeated.
Immediately after the non-Goan Europeans were forcibly ousted from Goa,
non-Goan Bharatis started entering Goa giving an impression that another
colonialisation of Goa was taking shape by the influx of non-Goans mainly
from Kerala and Maharastra. Most of the Malyalis with degrees of College
education landed in Goa to take up employment mostly in the reorganized
education system from Portuguese to English.. These third rate teachers
started brainwashing young Goan minds and instead of teaching properly very
many of them started befriending young Goan female students and finally got
married to them and currently they are living as honourable Sons-in-law of
Goa. The Maharastrians also infiltrated into Goan administration and
Marathi medium schools and they also brainwashed Goan Hindu youth in favour
of Maharastra and against Goan Christians. With the influx of non-Goans in
big number the demographic character of Goa started changing in favour of
non-Goans who qualitatively were of very inferior class. Their bad behaviour
and ugly actions influenced Goans. Murderers, rapist, pimps, prostitues,
briber takers, crooks and rogues started pouring in Goa from all over Bharat
freely and they started spoiling the genuine good character of traditional
Goa and Goans. The first murderer to hang in Goa in post 1961 era was a
Malyali named Kumar. The influx of non-Goan Bharati communalists produced
the virus of communalism in Goa that was not existing earlier. Many of the
non-Goans who came to Goa in Bharati regime were equipped with high grade of
modern educational, technological and crooked skills which helped them to
overpower traditional susegad Goans. With the backing of their non-Goan
masters in neighbouring Maharastra, the Maharastrawadi Gomantak Party came
to power in the first general election in Goa and they started using
communal card to devide Goans on the basis of religion which was not seen
during Portuguese era. During the Portuguese era the administration was
superb, the law and order situation was excellent. There was life security.
People during Portuguese era used to sleep at night time with their doors
and windows open but later on everything was changed to 180 degrees. Under
the domination of India Goans are made to ape their corrupt counterparts in
Bharat. The local administration to please their masters in New Delhi are
hell bent in degoanising Goa by allowing non Goans into every segment of
Goan life, even in Church circle. The Jesuits being the worst culprits for
this reason earlier Portuguese Government banned their mission in Goa.
During Portuguese era and especially under the rule of last Portuguese
Governor General Vassalo e Silva the interests of Goa and Goans were very
much protected. If Portuguese was not ousted in 1961 and a few more years
had passed then Goa would have been excellent place for Goans to live and
work. The Portuguese masters treated Goans much better than the noveau
Portuguese who are all out to destroy Goa and Goans of course with the help
of the local administrators and ministers of Congress Party who are
excellent political rascals surpassing their mentors from other parts of
Bharat. Currently most corrupt politicians of India are Goans from Congress
Party headed by Sonia Gandhi. During Portuguese era the administration of
Goa was in the hands of capable, decent and educated persons while later on
it gone into the hands of third class politicians who learnt all the dirty
tricks of roguery and bribery from their masters from beyond the borders of
Goa. And worst part of the whole scenario is this that non-Goans are envious
of life style and standard of Goans which is totally different from others
in India in many respects. Though lot of development has taken place in Goa
since Dec. 1961 but the real character of original Goa is destroyed beyond
repairs. Under Indian Union, Goa has lost its originality and if no efforts
are made by the locals to change this situation, Goa may go into ixtinction
as Goa, to quote St. Francis Xavier the Patron Saint of Goa.
