Hello all goanetters, This is a 'wonderful and meaningful Speech at an appropriate Function, in the true spirit of Christmas, and what 'Christmas' should mean to the world and more specifically to Goans and Goa.
I specially liked: "The Church envisions social transformation as a step by step process of development of the whole person, from 'less human conditions' to 'more human conditions'. The Whole Person: It is not 'having more' but 'being more' being a better human person, that is more important! (I would say: most important!) This is a vision of 'Integral Human Development'. Why can't our leaders and politicians work towards this goal with vigour and energy? Why not all Projects and Plans be focussed on these objectives and imperatives, I would say? More for the common good and not all for the few! Health, Education, and Transport and Communications Infrastructure, as well as gauranteeing Water and Power, Fuel Energy supply, and maintaining 'law and order',should be the main pre-occupation of the Govt. Not IFFI, not huge projects that do not benefit all or most. Leave all those to the private sector. What is the primary job of Governments? Do the primary mandates first, and lay out or plan only, the rest for the private sector and the peoples' enterprise. Most of all: Preserve the Goanness of Goa, at all costs!
