Hi guys, I just wans to thank you all for your feedback.
Mr. Teotonio Rodrigues is right, its Rachol (Raitura) entrance gate wall (about 11 kms from Margao) But it cannot be just 100 or 200 years old , it could be even 400 years or as old as Rachol Seminary ? I even heard that the church was the first to build (Don't know which one whether Raitura or Rachol se pics) by the Portuguese followed by a Prison and then the Seminary. see 3 churches hre http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=347316212&size=o The wall/Gate could be even oven 450 years old Who will tell us ? === [Goanet] Talking Photos: Please Identify this Gate (Wall) Paulo Colaco Dias PauloCD at hotmail.com Fri Jan 5 01:46:07 PST 2007 Like Roland, I cannot identify where the gate is but the 'crown emblem' is the Portuguese coat of arms during the Portuguese Monarchy (hence the Royal Crown). So, it is not only the heraldry of D. Manuel II but also of his predecessors. BTW, D. Manuel II was the last king of Portugal (1908-1910) from the House of Braganca and he was forced to exile in England, where he died in 1932 without descendents. The heir to the throne of Portugal is today represented by D. Duarte of Braganca, the 24th Duke of Braganca, who loves Goa and has visited Goa several times, the last time quite recently.
