Hi Eugene
I wonder if it is possible to establish the veracity of the view of your
Mumbai friend that "thousands of Indians have returned [to Mumbai] from
Britain over the last year." I suspect that it is a throw-away line as we
know that such returnees try to settle back in the India of their early
memories, and often being disappointed, return to retained UK homes and
passports as an insurance policy!
I did read Suketa Mehta in his substantial summarised version of his book in
an article. He sure writes very engagingly.
