Come on Goa, you can set your sights a bit higher. Why not aim to get the
Navy "band" at Dabolim to synchronise a bit more with the real needs of Goa?
For starters they should be geared to humanitarian issues like issuing
timely and effective cyclone warnings, and against oil spills and policing
along with the Coast Guard the illegal discharge of waste water by ships at
sea. Again on the terrorist front, perhaps they should gear up for rapid
response in terms of recovery and rescue efforts to Bali type bombings.
Finally on the conventional security front, they should consider
re-configuring their activity mix to minimise congestion of civilian air
traffic at Dabolim and increasing space for passenger amenities there
(instead of just extending the length of the runway as they have been doing
all these years). Cheers.
