PANJIM, JAN 15 Santa Cruz MLA Victoria Fernandes was the lone MLA to demand
for scrapping of the Regional Plan 2011.
Sources said during the discussion on RP 2011 at the CLP meeting, Fernandes
disagreed with the majority that the Plan should be kept for review and public
scrutiny.
She said the manner in which changes have been made totally different from
those shown in the draft proposal, without consultation at the grass-root level
and considering the damage it would do the ecology of the State the Plan
needs to be scrapped.
She also reminded her colleagues that during a CLP meeting on the TCP Ordinance
more than a year ago, she had cautioned them of the public sentiments against
such moves and demanded that it be denotified.
