MANOHAR PARRIKAR - He can't be that bad (my last one)
More I write in favour, more bashing I get from the cyberGoans:-)
However, it was quite normal (and fun too) seeing both side of the coin
Ani tum re, Parrikar, poitai kitem, mhojem mollem ?
Come out from the hiding, what if you are not a Chief Minister now ? Aren't
you the present
opposition leader ? Aren't you the present Panjim MLA ? Didn't all
Christians/Hindu from
Panjim Constituency voted you twice ?
Bietai konnak re ? CyberGoans-ank ?
Te beste mhoje baxen boddbodde.
Thuim son fator sheuttum marlo mhunn to kitem hangasor paunk xekta ?
Sat somdhir bhair zabon xhati folourn 'Mojem Goem, Mhojem Goem' oxem mhunn
hordear marun
mottean boddboddlem mhunnunuch zainam. 'Kuch karke bhi dikana hai'.
We (from Goa) cannot comment on the TV show 'Big Brother' telelcast in UK.
Similarly, UK people cannot comment on TV programes in Goa.
To talk about any programe one has to be there to watch that programe in that
country.
When BJP was not in picture (in Goa), for us MGP was communal. As kids, we
remember, MGP or
'Shiv' Lion (symbol) was konknniacho and 'hat' hand (symbol) was
christaovamcho.
To us Christians, BJP was always been communal not just after the VCD/Good
Friday/Sanvorden
incidences but as far as I remember it was more than last 15 years.
Most of us wont take No for an answer. Typical brain-wash. perhaps, we got it
from our
parents and elders or other leaders including church or perhaps it started
since the infamous
Ayodia or RamJana Bhumi controversy.
Despite of all this I failed to understand how BJP improved it seats winning
equation i.e.
2+5+18 ? over last 12-15 years.
One possibility could be, people got fed up with the same old and
non-performing faces over
and over again.
Other could be, people might have seen Goa and only Goa and its all round
developemnt leaving
other things aside such as caste/creed etc. which is not taking us anywhere
except divisions,
hatred etc
If any govt. does any wrongs, citizens should question ( protest if necessary
as in RP2011),
we are in democracy our elected reps can't do what they want. We now also have
RTI.
No Cheif Minister is supreme be it comes to holidays cuts or other religious
sentiments.
We have right to know how, why, when, what, who, where, if etc.
Now, coming to the 'Good Friday' point
It is never been a national holiday but it appeared under 'Restricted Holiday'
On this day, we left home at 2pm and returned back home 9pm ( from the church)
and next
morning we left again at 7 am to answer University Exams. So, who fixed the
exams on Sat.
Govt. or University ?
As some one said, Good Friday was not the only holiday on the list but there
were others too
including Oct.2 (I think). This was something no other Govt. could do to stream
line govt.
employees. It was just a proposal and was open for public debate (unlike
Regional Plan 2011)
FYI, Goa has, for year 2007, lists of 16 Public Holidays, 21 Restricted
Holidays, 3 Special
Holidays, 8 Commercial & Industrial Holidays and 18 Bank Holidays.
That's not over there. Taking into account the annual holidays,
absenteeism/sick leave, late
coming, early leaving, reading news papers while on duty, no. of T breaks,
longer lunch
breaks, time spent on personal phone calls, going slow during festive season
like Diwali,
Ganesh chaturti, no. of time going to toilets etc etc is like 'buy one get one
free'
or 'work for 6 months and get paid for 12 months'

Up till now you were looking at this writer as JoeGoaUk, but let me tell you,
come what may,
i mean, come next May, you could be looking at a minister hailing from Navelim
constituency.
Not many votes are required there to win, just 4000 will do assuming there are
about 12,000
voters. It's simple arithmetic..Churchill gets 3000+Luizinho gets 3500+ others
get 1500 and
remaining 4000 guess who ?
KAU KAU KAU. TISRO GHETA LAU.

btw, if Churchill decides to join hands with BJP do you realised that chances
for BJP comin
back to power are bright ? As NCP/Congress not very keen to accept him it could
be anything.
How about offering him dy.chief Minister post in BJP? Going by the past
experience, it seems
anything is possible with Churchil. Magir khayat patollio
In my first mail, my ans. to the question 'will I vote for Parrikar'? was: NO
Second Mail:UNDECIDED (which upset some)
This mail: After going thru various pros and cons.. DECIDED. (and it could be
anything)
Finally, as enough is seen of this side, it's time now move on to see another
side of another
coin.
