Hi Sunith
I'm afraid this is nothing to do with the above subject. However, I have
just come across an article in yesterday's Guardian re the ending of slavery
and the advent of neo-liberalism, but which also briefly says that Goa was
the hub/centre for much African slave transportation to other parts of the
world and specifically to Ceylon (Sri Lanka). I therefore wondered if you
know anything about this bit of history?

And perhaps, I can ask you another question: some Catholic Goans have
remarkably close features, in terms of build, colour, hair, etc to Africans.
Is this because there was a fair amount of African cohabitation or
miscegenation across the 'races' in Goa in the past? I know that DNA info
could throw light on this issue but there must be some historical
documentation too.

I am afraid I know very little about this particular aspect of Goan ancestry
and am just curious for now.
Regards
Cornel
