Congratulations to the team of Save Goa and victory to Dr. Oscar Rebello and
Patricia Pinto.I take up hats off for not only what they have achieved,
but because Oscar is my doctor and a very good one. I wish he would stand
in for elections as well as Patricia. Unfortunately they are both from
Panjim.

There are a lot of pressing issues to be tackled. Builders are like sharks
building, building and building not taking into account the infrastructure.

I live in Betim, tremendous garbage problem. I throw my garbage in the
river. It pains me, but I have no choice. My place is situated on the
river. From the main road to my place, the owner of the land has enclosed
her proprty with a compound wall. This is now a garbage dump. I have
requested inumerous time to clean the place, but nobody bothers. Its a
heath hazard. They are original inhabitants of Betim and talk big about
'outsiders' coming to live in Goa.

Another issue is all these kiosks (gados) which are erected overnight. Who
gives them permission. In Betim a furniture shop is operating from
someone's house on the main road.
Have they got licence?

Ferry boats, government has banned a fee for scooters/motorbikes with the
result there is hardly place for passengers. I wish someone from the River
Navigation Department or Mr. Rane or Mr. Parrikar would come to Betim
between 9 and 9.30 am and see the plight of passengers on the ferry.

I never managed that I would need an inverter in Goa, like most people have
it in Delhi and Bangalore. Problems with electricity.

Issues are inumerable, is the new government, whoever comes to power solve
it?
