I do not know whether to take you complement and run with it. They say, "the
fastest way for a doctor with a good reputation to develop a bad reputation is
to become a cancer specialist." That has not worked for me. So let me push my
luck by responding to your post.
You are right about some missing the point I made in my post. They either
refuse to read or understand what is written. Likely, the reason you enjoyed
the post was because you saw the points I made about the Goans in 1950-60, may
also apply to us-Goans today.
We only concern ourselves about our immediate little world. Then, we blame
others and "the bhaile" for the surrounding environment and the events that
dictate the future. We Goans are reactive instead of being proactive. In / for
1955-65, we blamed Salazar and Nehru. Today, we blame the Central Govt or other
"the bhaile".

Kudos to Gilbert Lawrence for the way he has responded to the cheap shot!!
Gilbert's response gives a great food for thought for all Goans in Goa and in
the Diaspora! Obviously some of us will miss the point he makes! I believe
this is one of the best post Gilbert has ever made on Goanet about Goa and I
wish he had included this in his first book on Goa.
