I am not into diagnosing people over the net. I am not into diagnosing people
of any illness outside my narrow field of expertise. Yet, I am happy,
goanetters take some time for introspection and self-diagnosis, since they know
themselves best.
As I have followed this topic, on and off, I think most of the participants
have a problem of Cynicism. This is not special to Goans. Recently one
prominent politician in the USA, said the problem may be affecting Americans.
The Webster defined a Cynic as an individual who is "disinclined to recognize
goodness or selflessness as a motive for behavior; One who take a low view of
human character and conduct". .... Cynicism is "contempt for human nature."
The question is: Are we taking our own character and attitude and transposing
it on others? Surely, the psychologist have a term for this.
I hope this response will help enlighten some of the participants on this topic
of Catholic Church, religion or lack there off, etc, etc..
The solution to cynicism is to change oneself and then "be the change we wish
to see"...MK Gandhi.

That is what I feel. Will someone enlighten me on this? I do not mind calling
myself Christian because we are followers of Christ. I do not mind calling
myself Jew because Jesus was a Jew. But I cannot call my self Roman Catholic.
I know many will say Heka pixem laglam.
