Excerpts:

Goa's placid and laid-back media scene that has been stagnant for much of
the past two decades, is seeing some active changes, with the television
scene leading the rush.

New Delhi-based STV Enterprises has announced plans for a 24-hour digital
satellite news channel in English and Konkani "exclusively for the people of
Goa". Its promised launch date is March 2007 .

Local newspaper Herald also has plans to launch its own TV "channel".

Hopefully the people who live outside Goa will be able to access the STV
service by broadband and on a subscription service.
