This school that you speak of, where in Bharat times (1961) [your
words] "we were not allowed to speak da concani in teh school otherwise we
would be fined one bharat dollar"---bharat dollar? tsk tsk!---was that an
Indian Government school, or was it a Goa Government school, or was it a
private school where English was the medium of instruction? Perhaps you
might even be able to remember the name of the school? And the name of the
principal?
I take it that you actually attended this school, and were not told
about it by some anonymous Sikh or Punjabi?
