George,
Thanks for the clarification - It was a good one, having Nehru travel
through time to describe some of the graduates of the elite IITs - which are
often referred to a the "Vision of Nehru" - I enjoyed your note with a
chuckle until you mentioned the Circket World Cup and as a die hard,
accomplished hockey player of Goan origin, I just couldnt take it and I
threw up my take out dinner ! My cousin in the Bahamas, Dr Jose Colace (I
hope he's got some relief !) who was brought up in Pune is probably looking
forward to the Circket World Cup !
Best Regards,
Dr. Carmo D'Cruz

Nehru's exact quote in the IIT canteen: "Carmo should not be called a cook
even though he serves the BJP's interests and Manohar Parrikar should not be
called a butler because he cleaned up the mess in the IIT canteen". In time,
this quote has morphed into the current understanding: "Goans are cooks and
butlers".
Hence, a tie between Roland and Carmo. They can now cook for themselves, or
better yet, order
take-out while on a couch watching the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
So now you know the truth.
Regards,
George
