Goa's Russian 'ties' opens up new issues

Outlook's expose on the Russian mafia buying land in Goa
(January 29 issue) has found an echo in Parliament. Recently
elected Rajya Sabha MP and industrialist from Karnataka,
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, took up the issue through a written
question on foreigners buying land in India-with specific
reference to Goa. But with home minister Shivraj Patil
choosing not to respond, Chandrasekhar has now shot off a
letter asking the former why he was unwilling to supply
credible answers.
