Andre,
When highly qualified IITian Manohar Parrikar becomes Chief Minister of Goa
in May, he will revamp the high school education system in Goa to be the
best in the nation and we Goan IITians will start IIT Entrance Exam coaching
classes all over Goa. Then Goan students will get into IIT en masse - ie a
large number will attempt IIT Entrance Exam and get thru the JEE - and those
that do not succeed will still get into the other engineering colleges. All
these students will get lucrative scholarships to do post graduate study in
America, and the unfortunate ones who dont get scholarships to study in
American colleges will go to Europe. Sure Goan IIT Graduates or Graduates of
other engineering colleges will have a world of a opportunity in Goa, in
India or abroad. This will surely open the minds of all Goans - They need to
start now with a vote for Manohar Parrikar for Chief Minister and we will
all attain GOA DOURADA (Golden Goa) !
Best Regards,
Dr. Carmo D'Cruz,
Goan, IITian
ex Velim in South Goa,
now INDIAN Harbour Beach, Florida.

Hi.
I've read your messages on Goanet with some amazement.
I don't understand your focus on "Get more Goans into the elite IITs" helps
anything. If more Goans get into the IITs, well and good. But surely only a
very small fraction of those that try will.
Unless you're making the point that opening the minds of Goan students to
the possibilities that lie outside Goa is what is desirable, but I don't
think you've made that explicit anywhere.
