Dear Aires, bab, I have been writing many letters to you, without any response. Whether you have received or not and may be my mails go into the dustbin without your knowledge. Similarly I have been writing to Parrikar which he also does the same attitude. Now the point what you made in your letter in the Goanet which i am enclosing, in regards to consumption of alcohol at St Francis Feast days which include novenas, I was supposed to react when I have just attended the last novena and that I realized this dry days for the Catholics in Goa for the St Francis Xavier 2013 feast was announced by Parrikar. It was shocking to me. You are right saying that this kind of tricks Parrikar will slowly continue to other Catholics feasts in Goa and may be also Christmas. Who knows! Already he tried his level best for Good Friday holiday etc in earlier years which I and others have strongly opposed and very soon he gave up or discontinued. Will he do the same tricks for other festivities other than Catholics festivals? We have to watch and see. I know when we get sausages in Old Goa feast and not getting caju feni it is really sad . Next Feast may be sausages will be banned by him if he is still in power. The Aam Admi party also may follow the same thing if they come in power in the future elections ? or will it better than BJP and Congress who knows. Congress we have already tasted earlier but corruption is high with them, and the rest is tolerable. So this year Feast was a dry Feast for Goans Catholics. This dictatorial attitude by Parrikar will pay for his future elections I feel until than lets us wait and see his future actions at Lusofenia games, Sunburn festivals etc////

This malicious order of the Manohar Parrikar government prohibiting the sale and consumption of alcohol within the limits of the Old Goa Panchayat is very high handed and illogical. On these festive days the people are being asked to have a drink in the outskirts of Old Goa at Corlim, Carambolim or Ribandar. The BJP?s hidden agenda is slowly but surely surfacing silently and that too, commencing with such an important religious festival. For the next year, will the traditional sale of sausage bread and sorpatel be also banned by these communal fanatics? Is this not the same Chief Minister who during his first tenure had attempted to do away with the Good Friday and the 3rd December public holiday as well? Getting a few cronies to write letters seeking such a ban and taking a decision promptly on the same, is no justification for such a slanted decision by the Government, which is duty bound to ensure the larger interests of the State and not of a few propped up persons. Is there any material on record, including report of the Police and other authorities of any law and order situation being the cause for such an outrageous ban? Will the skewed reasoning behind this ban be applied to all such events and festivities? Consequently, will the Panaji traditional feast on 8th December be also a dry affair? And will it be a black Christmas this year. Will people be allowed to drink juices and gulp water only at the Sunburn and other festivals too? Or is this selective targeting?
