We thought the timing was 7- 9pm We arrived there 6.55pm, they say entry only at 7.15pm till 8.30pm We were getting late.. had to go to Cansaulim programme.. Decided to stay on till 7.15 only after making sure Cameras are allowed Many asked at the gate, they said fine. Many taking pics of the gate right under their noses (even this was not allowed before) News papers items also did say ' ..open for public.. no sharp weapons, handbags, digital diaries etc (but no mention of cameras) It's 7.15pm, Q already becoming bigger but lot of time taken at security - metal detector, registrations etc, so another at least 15 minutes lost. Police or security are every where, no access towards the Chapel. Access only to Palace garden lawns where dinner hosted by the Governor (at our cost) just ended, as can be seen some dinner plates, utensils etc lying on the lawns and the fountain side. Access only upto the lawns, away from the Palace, there were police too. As taking pics, from the lawns of the Palace, they stopped people including us. This ended up in arguments, at the gate they said camera / photography is fine but here they stopped us. 'Third Class Citizens' we are.. That's what the impression got by the many for the treatment received. I always said, Goa Govt should arrange another separate block for Goa Governor at Porvorim assembly complex or nearby. Its too much for just one man Too much of security for just one man Too much of money spent for just one man All this at our cost and inconvenience. I wish we had unrestricted access to the historical Cabo estate - Palace, chapel, grotto, fortress, beach / jetty etc Can the BJP Govt take the initiative?
