Fr Inacio Almeida has been laid to rest today. In his death we have lost a tall personality always with an untiring passion for farming and a relentless desire to see a lush environment all over. Always very humble and ever so gentle in all that he said. I was privileged to know over the last three decades this great towering and a very unassuming soul.
Had the opportunity to visit many times the Colem farm run by the Pilar society where he had overseen several successful endeavors while he was there. A very caring person always concerned about who ever was around him. He must have been very content that the rampant illegal mining which had ravaged even Goa’s hinterland has now been stopped. May his soul rest in peace. May Goa see more friends of farming of the caliber, dedication and integrity of the late Fr. Inacio Almeida.
