Disciplinary action has today been sought against Panaji based Mushtifund Saunstha open school Principal Mrs. Neena Naik for being in violation of law the Vice President of the Goa BJP State Executive Committee besides a member on the National executive of the BJP Mahila Morcha.
In a complaint lodged with the Chief Secretary of Goa, immediate action has been demanded against Neena Naik for being actively involved with a political party while continuing to be a Principal of an educational institution in rank violation of a Bombay High Court order. . The Bombay High Court had ruled that academic institutions are required to be kept way from politics. The High Court had clearly ruled that a person in employment of an educational institution was required not to have any political association or connection whatsoever while in service. The Chief Secretary’s attention has been drawn that the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court comprising of Justice P.B.Majumdar and Justice P.B.Varale while dismissing a petition filed by a teacher Mr. Shrikant Pande who was the head of the BJP unit at Umred in Nagpur, had ruled that a teacher’s role is to impart education to students in an impartial manner and that if a teacher is actively associated with any political party it may hamper the educational atmosphere of a school. While ruling that education should be kept away from politics, the High Court has held that the educational field should not be allowed to be polluted in any manner by bringing in politics. The Goa Government is duty bound to comply with all Court directives. Just because Neena Naik happens to be a close confidante of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar she cannot be allowed to blatantly violate the law. The Chief Secretary has been also urged to direct the Vigilance department to crack the whip and act against all other staff of educational institutions in the State who are illegally involved and connected with any political party.
