Hi Sandhya, Asnoda (also spelt as Assonora) is, if we're referring to
the same place, the last village in Bardez, before you cross over to
Bicholim. One good map of Goa (though with a few errors) is here
http://www.johnthemap.co.uk/pages/goa/goamap.html
A quick search through the index of the Marathi Gomantak's Devasthan
Visheshank (June 2001) didn't help me to locate this. You could also
check Rui Gomes' Pereira book on Goan temples, which is quite
informative, and in English.
Good luck in your search. My mum was also interested in tracing
"roots" when we returned from Brazil in the 1960s, and managed to
locate an ancestor born in 1795... FN
