-- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM: Bicholim Police on Thursday arrested a 22- year- old youth from Brahmakarmali- Sattari on charges of raping a 19- year- old girl from Kudchirem- Bicholim.
According to police, both the accused and the victim girl had an affair over the last one year and the boy used to visit at his sister’s house at Kudchirem. The duo met each other during a wedding and the friendship turned into love. When the family members came to know about their affair, there was a strong opposition and the boy refused to marry the girl. During the course of time, the girl got pregnant and some five days back, she gave birth to a baby boy. As the accused still refused to marry her, the victim girl filed a complaint with Bicholim Police. The police have sent the sample for DNA test for verification and arrested the accused.
