This too comes as a shock. Having met him a couple of times when he first migrated to Canada, especially when I requested the GOA to have his father-in-law, Dr. Leon D'Souza, former major of Mumbai and also MLC, Maharashtra assembly, and later member of Rajya Sabha to be the chief guest at a Viva Goa event. Dr. Leon was visiting Toronto sometime in August that year to be with his daugher, Tina, Frederick's wife. I visited his house. At that time he was staying in Scarborought, in the same building where another journalist, Fermino, from one of the Goa papers and later of Oman Times, stayed. I later got Dr. Leon and Tina special invitees for the Indian Independence Day party at the Toronto City Hall. It was organized by the Indian Consulate, with Chandra Mohan Bhandari as the then Consul-General. I think Frederick got a job with the Ontario Ligour Board. He would call me at times after that but never met him. Wasn't he working with Navhind Times? I remember he telling me he was with Gulf News.
My heartfelt condolences to Tina, and the rest of the family. Eugene" PS: I think someone told me that Rocque wasn't a Goan. Can someone confirm he was or wasn't?
