That's very well put. In elections, what choices do we have? Between bad
and worse. So let us go for the bad :-) But, as Miguel says, the job is
not now but post-elections, pre-elections and all the time.
Of course, Parrikar would not agree with this. His fascist streak was
clearly present in one of his statements that I remember (in response to
the IFFI and mega-project protests): "The people have elected me and if
they don't like what I am doing, they can vote against me in the next
elections." This is the man's understanding of democracy -- a once every
five years ritual at the hustings!
