After what has been posted by many on GoaNet, this much seems to be evident:
- Goan shippies on cruiseliners chose this particular line of work in attempts to find gainful employment. Unfortunately when faced with the unforeseen harsh realities of the life they chose and unable to come to terms, absent a support system,( it is implied that) they commit suicide in droves? We know that Goan people are very resilient and no strangers to hardship, so the questions are valid: -are these suicides or homicides? -when it is said"Goan crew on cruiseliners are dying in droves " what are the numbers involved? (Even one is one too many, to be sure) -is this away to negate all liabilities by all concerned? -are these fellows on their own with no welfare organizations with no Goa Government support?
