Election promises cannot be like China made goods which are with no guarantee nor any warranty.
On 9th March, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar completes two long years in office. Time to draw up a panchanama entailing a detailed audit on the performance of this government. This government would have to be assessed based on the Goa Vision Document 2012-2017 which was released by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the run up to the March 3rd 2012 Assembly elections and also Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's first Budget Speech delivered on 26th March 2012. It shall be my endeveaour that the appraisal of this two year rule be as fair and realistic as possible. It will be a very true reflection of the ground realty. The report may help Manohar Parrikar himself to chart his road map of governance for the remaining three years of his tenure or till this government lasts. With the Tiger roaring and in the very volatile world of political poaching, the impossible can see the light of the day. While I get down to penning down this review of Manohar Parrikar's government two year rule, may I seek your feedback and views on some concrete achievements and follies of this government. Please send them if possible by the 1st of March. You could post it to Aires Rodrigues, Ribandar, Goa or send it across by email on [email protected] or [email protected], you can also SMS me on 9822684372. You may reach me on twitter @rodrigues_aires. Sir Winston Churchill had said "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." I only hope Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will take this audit report in a very positive and right stride. You cannot be a good leader unless you are a good listener. Listening involves patient hearing, proper sensing, right interpretation, a good evaluation and a fair response. Aires Rodrigues T1 - B30, Ribandar Retreat Ribandar - Goa - 403006 Mobile: 9822684372
