Thanks for reminding us of the sacrifices of our forefathers.
Before Crate-carrying Gulfies, there were PET-carrying Africanists and
Shippies and Bomboicars (who lived in the Village Clubs at Dhobitalao). I
remember meeting these folks while waiting at the Ferry Crossing of the
Sal river near Assolna. All the PETs had the distinct odour of fresh-made
Chouricos emanating from them ! They always made my mouth water !
All that is history now. Let's look forward to the Goan IIT, Engineering
and Medical Graduates who will fly to America for scholarships and
high-end Jobs and bring Greater Glory to Goa !!
And Manohar Parrikar as Chief Minister may create enough lucrative
opportunities to beckon them back to Goa !!
