Well, you can treat this as first information report (FIR) as it is directly
coming from the
commuters themselves.
Ok, how long it takes a bus to reach to Bus Stand from Miramar Beach ?
If the bus makes stops at all the 6 or 7 notified bus stops en route, it
should not take
more than 8 minutes to cover the distance say about 5 kms.
But with the present world class City Transport, this could take anything
from 20-40 minutes
which would involve the following routine:
-6 notified Bust stops (with sheds) Multiply by 5 i.e. 30 stops (Buses will
stop almost every
where on the road).
-Just stop at one bus stop with no passengers coming in, and wait there until
you see the next
bus approaching behind you.
- Near Market/opp.Dempo House, there come their own unofficial bus stand solely
managed by the
Bus operators and Traffic cops ? where they will halt on an average 15 minutes
(see pics and
video. One can see up to 7 buses one after another at a time) with or without
the blessings of
traffic cop.
-Wait till the bus is jammed packed like sardins.
Just few days ago, we were sitting in a bus, an ambulance was coming with its
siren on, the
truck in front suddenly applied break to save a commuter who was crossing the
raod to board
our bus, the ambulance rammed straight into the truck thus completely smashing
its windscreen
(luckily, all 3 escaped with minor injuries). Seeing that there could be
trouble, our bus
promptly left the scene as the bus and the other 3 buses were solely
responsible for that
accident for unauthorized parking/stopping thus causing obstructions to other
road users. We
have seen many other pvt. cars parked in between the buses thus reducing the
two lane to one.
Traffic police always seen around but who cares ??
Mr. Panduranga, the Transport Ministers, are you reading this ?
Is this the way you care about your people ?
And you Mr. Willy Willy winky (Tourism Minister), is this your ideal way to
put Goa on the
world tourism map ? Do you know that more any more foreign tourists, even from
local star
hotels prefer traveling by local transport ?
You Mr. CMT (City Mayor Tony), are you aware of this ? Fyi, this is the same
road you were
fighting to hold Carnival float Parade. Try traveling with this city transport
one day to feel
the pinch.
And the City MLA Mr. Porrrikar, what if you are not a Chief Minister now ?
Arent you the
present elected MLA of Panjim constituency ?
Finally, the minister of ministers, CM Rane, is this what you call all round
development of
Goa in your book title Completing ONE year of all round
copies of which
were handed over
to all NRG delegates during recently held Global Goan Convention ?

whole of Goa.
