Their private efforts, dedication, commitment and sacrifices are worthy of our appreciation and recognition. Both the day and residential schools provided a convenient opportunity for learners. They prepared students for the public, Govt, examination in Permeiro and Segundo Grau .These qualifications enabled the students to enter English medium schools or First year of 7 years of Lyceum at Panjim with admission test.The villagers want to revive and perpetuate their memories in gratitude, for their private intitiative, which spread literacy, promoted Education and inscribed CHINCHINIM on the educational map of Salcette, Goa
Prof.Nazario Rodrigues was married to Dona Priscilla .,He was born on 23-10-1906 and passed away on 20-01-1967 with a massive heart failure, exhausted but with the joy of having won the historical Opinion Poll on 19-01-1967 ,in which he was intimately and passionately involved. He was given a fitting and touching farewell draped with the flag of two leaves. Educated at Rachol Seminary he was proficient in Portuguese, Latin , French besides English. He was the Regedor at Ambaulim for many years and had also opened a small Ayurvedic Hospital .The success in coaching Vanda and neighbours, fuelled the demand to establish.Lar de St. Antonio in 1956 and which continued until liberation in 1962, and flourished with much appreciation and respect.., Students joined from A.V.C,Betul, Paroda. Majorda. Boarding facility became a necessity .Dona Priscilla along with Betty, Vanda efficiently managed it, .Later Anthony,Sandy, Ivor, Victor actively participated in supporting his Educational effort..Late Mila cast her angelic spell on the students. After liberation New Educational Institute in English was registered ,as the replacement, owned by his relative Prof. Aquino Dias. Prof. Nazario was dedicated, creative ,determined, filled with love and compassion for the marginalized, besides being a perfectionist, professional educationist, inspired by Tagore and Don Bosco. He lived up to his motto `The end crowns the work` Prof. Nazario was actively involved in social. Cultural, religious, economical life of the community .He was the first member of Chinchinim Panchayat and shaped it in the initial years. The road leading from Dandeavado to the Church, , reversing the frontage of Santa Cruz Chapel ,Dandeavado,, contributory scheme for death benefit fund, Carnaval Khell Mand at Dandeavado,The Progressive VividhKaryakari Sahakari (Vikas) Seva Society Ltd., Dandeavado all bear his selfless, historical finger prints.and a legacy left behind for prosterity
