Goa Su-Raj Party strongly condemns threats of bodily harm to Dr. Francisco Colaco of Margao.
Speaking to the press, Floriano Lobo, Gen. Secretary, GSRP said: " Dr. Francisco Colaco is one of the most respected Goans whose integrity, honesty, secular and social credendials are above board. As such, GSRP demands that the police do not leave any stone unturned to identify the source of this intimidating threat call." He also spoke about the Party's candidate [South] Savio Rodrigues having been similarly threatened of dire consequencies through mobile and land line calls which were reported to the Margao Police and nothing has come out of it as investigation so far" , he said. "The Party demands that Dr. Colaco be provided with 24 x 7 'police security' so that this facists threat, which could, in all probability, not be an idle threat, be allowed to materialise. Should this happen, then GOA will know where to put the blame", observed Savio Rodrigues, Secretary & President [Youth affairs], GSRP, adding that the State's Home Ministry headed by CM Manohar Parrikar must take note.
