Short Video clip 1.5 mins ?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX870knhda4 One of my old-time Teachers dies During school time, we rarely called teachers by their names, instead, we use their Nicknames / aliases ?(another name given by the school/Students themselves, which many teachers were not even aware of and it may even sound derogatory). A nun used to teach us Geography and was talking about ?horizon? all the time, so , she was well known as Horizon. Our PT Teacher, a Keralite (from Kerala). Wherever someone talks or disturbs during the class/March etc He said ?who re?? (meaning, who?s that?) So, his given name was ?Who rey? Another teacher was well known as ?Dukrukan? (Pigs lady, a lady rearing pigs) I have no Idea, how she got that name. Yet, another teacher was well know as ?Landdo?. I can understand that she got it from her family (In-laws) Another teacher got another family name ?Bonkam-bott? But this teacher, one of the three, when she was made to give first lesson as part of the interview, she was sounding so strict and arrogant (our English knowledge to blame), called us ?idiots? which was a new and high sounding word to us, we even taught it could be a bad word. Moment she left the class after her first lecture there come various remarks. Some said ?Bori aha, sungott koxi usolltta? others said ?Hot tempered lady? etc Another one loudly said ?Piprimutt koxem? and whole class burst into laughter. So, her new given name was Pimprimutt*. When Headmaster ask our opinion of the three, we chose ?Pimprimutt? and she got the job and was our class teacher too. RIP *No offence intended. ? ?
