The Cross has become symbolic of Catholic/Christian community in Bollywood films. Deepika is on a roll since last year and one can expect her to do a good role. The Cross also stands as a fashion symbol for some girls. She speaks Konkani and I remember she spoke to someone in Konkani who asked her a question. I used to speak Konkani to her father, Prakash Padukone, very often. The family is GSB from Bangalore.
