SACERDOTAL DIAMOND JUBILLEE FR NOBERT DSOUZA, 29.April 2014,at St Anthony` Chapel, Jepu Manglore
Thanks giving Eucharistic celebrations was presided over by Bishop, Aloysius Paul Souza, Mangalore, Retd .Archbishop, Delhi ,Rev.Vincent Conceicao,and Bishop Rev. Robrert Miranda, Gulbarga along with 60 other priests. Bishop Robert Miranda delivered the homily. Fr Nobert, D`Souza served as an Asst. Parish Priest and P.P.at<http://p.p.at/> Belmon,Kirem, Cathedral,Pezar Mogarnad,,Nirkan,Pernal, Bajpe,Angelore,Ujire. After retirement he is at St Anthony`s ashram at Jepu. At the felicitation function after the mass all the dignitaries paid glowing tributes to him for his dedication, commitment, discipline with anecdotes and service to the Diocese. Fr Nobert was called the builder of community, and family .Besides, he helped to build 3 Churches at Pernal, Angelore and Thokur with involvement of the Parishioners and was lauded for the transparency, sincerity and accountability. Fr. John Mendonca gave a lucid, detailed account of the personality and work of Fr Nobert and which was highly appreciated and commented by all present. Bouquets, garlands , Shawls and gifts were presented in appreciation of his service. Earlier Fr. Nobert vividly recounted about his close family members, specially the influence of his mother, and passing away 4 of his priest colleagues. His secret of success was working closely with children and his greatest moments of joy was when he brought people back to the fold of Jesus Born on 2 August, 1926,at the age of 88 years, he is fit and vibrant with no known medical disabilities. His regime of strict diet, discipline and firm spiritual commitment are bound to add many more fruitful years to his life with the grace and blessings of God. His surviving siblings are Fr Clifford, Ms Hilda, Ms Dorothy and those who have passed away are Mr Edward, ,Mr Stanly and Ms ,Lany. Presently ,he has compiled lives of 100 saints., which will printed into a book form soon It is admirable and noteworthy that all the Church dignitaries kept company till the end of the function. The function was followed by lunch to about 500 guests, including priests and grateful Parishioners from his past Parishes.Fr Nobert has rightly and justly earned respect, dignity, and reverence for his spiritual work and humanitarian considerations Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
