Rahul Gandhi has lost the race Frankly speaking he has not displayed any sincere enthusiasm or natural tendency to lead from the front. Both in UPA I and UPA II, Rahul has been in the shadows. The then P.M goaded him to take position of responsibility in administrations and which he declined. He has understood his capacities and limitations and confined himself to the party and organisation. In that situation he cannot be targeted directly. He owned up the dismal failure in UP state election where he invested personally and yet the party shielded him stating that it as the party and collective responsibility, Sonia in her family interest and her failing health seemed to have pushed reluctant Rahul to the position of V.P of the party with the hope of installing him as the next P.M in waiting. The Congress faithful hounds are willing to oblige, bend and prostrate genuflect, were only too happy to oblige and please the mother not willing to incur her displeasure, because in such psychopathic abject surrender lay their political secure future.Individual of the stature of P.M was willing to serve in any position under Rahul Gandhi was the best act of sycophancy. Not many of the so called stalwarts have pan India image and even in the constituencies they represent in which they have been decimated. No leader worth the salt is willing stake the claim for leadership role .Gandhi family label is the only glue which binds the Congress. Earlier those who left the party under the banner of Congress U or Congress O vanished from the political scene, Sangama returned to the fold with public apology and folded hands and his daughter was rewarded with a central post., Pawar who instigated the revolt found it expedient to share power with the Gandhi family. The Congress like the proverbial Banayan tree does not allow anything to grow beneath its spread. The Desire of the Gandhi family to accept the blame on the debacle and genuine willingness to resign was shot down, since without them Congressmen are orphans. Calling their leader a joker and M.D of jokers is in absolute poor taste and bereft of dignified respect expected to the leader., Both the members have only been suspended and mercifully not sacked. The cacophony is growing against the leadership in hushed tones, but none is willing to see the writing on the wall for the future ad resurrection of the Congress party, which is engulfed with terminal illness. The political opinion is loud and clear that the revival of the fortunes and past glory of Congress is doubtful under the Gandhis any more as they have lost all relevance. The congress is deluding itself from policy paralysis, price rise, monumental corruption , crimes against women , black money, back seat driving without responsibility, accountability and still like the ostrich burying its head in the sand in accepting the reality, further attributing the fall to bad publicity, arrogance, financial resources poor communication of P.M etc.. Some Congressmen now defunct functionaries are trying to capitalize on minor issues, which only leads to sinking in political quick sands. Many vociferous Congress stalwarts have very quietly disappeared from public gaze and settled down in obscurity. The poor, deliberate choice of Karge as the leader of opposition of Congress, ignoring the likes of Mr Kamal Nath is seen as the pincer grip and remote control on the members .Mr Karge is on record and openly declaring his loyalty instead of independence that he will abide by Mrs Sonia Gandhi.
Mr Rahul has been skipped Parliament sessions, never raised his voice or the cause of the people he represents or takes part in Parliamentary debates. The recent elections indicated his popularity graph eroding and tumbling from the high esteem he commanded. His written, important speech in the Parliament, even though his position to do so was questioned did not cut much ice.He received accolades for his immature , public outbursts on the ordinance and demand to raise the cap to 12 cylinders were political exercises that did not give intended dividends, His best contribution was inducting young Turks like Scindia , Milind Deorora, Sachin Pilot, who in spite of great promise, track record and performance were suppressed and not entrusted with greater responsibilities That speaks for grooming of new leaders, who might indirectly be a threat to the aspiring Ghandi scion There are no issues left to agitate, no leader in the Congress other than family who can steer the party to his preeminent glory. Surviving on the hereditary interests is a limitation There is an attempt to rope in Priyanka in desperation.The massive victory of BJP, systematically and astutely winning opponents in sharing power thereby demolishing credible opposition.
