With this mandate in place, it becomes critical for companies to understand the social development space as the law has mandated a tectonic shift in the way corporates were viewing and implementing CSR. From an earlier paradigm largely of chequebook philanthropy (with few exceptions), the new paradigm allows the companies to look into CSR as a strategic vision of the organisation, which throws up both challenges and opportunity. This would further require companies to understand the life cycle of a CSR initiative in order to establish and implement large scale and impactful social interventions. CII Goa will be conducting a Workshop on 'Demystifying CSR Rules' on 17 July 2014, at Vivanta by Taj, Panaji Goa. Prior registration is a must. The offering is a one-day hands-on training that addresses the core needs of companies and equips them to perceive CSR through a strategic lens and align it to their core business objectives. It will familiarize companies with a wholesome CSR life cycle, leaving them with a clear check-list, an understanding of the deliverables and an assessment of their current CSR activities, evaluate the outcomes as against the outputs of their social investments and engage actively with the stakeholders as partners. The programme is designed specifically for CSR Heads/Managers of Companies, including Small and Medium Enterprises, Representatives from Corporate Communications department, Company Secretaries, HR and other professionals who currently handle CSR for their respective companies Participants would be in a better position to improve their understanding of compliance vis-à-vis CSR Rules, Gain competence in CSR reporting and development of CSR policies, Enhance capabilities to implement CSR Rules, Management systems and processes available for implementation of CSR policy, Project management of the CSR implementation, Evaluation of the social benefits accruing through a social investment, ie., Social Return on Investment (SRoI), introduction to ISO 26000 management system. The programme will be conducted by Experts and experienced faculty from CII- Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development - CESD, who have diverse expertise as well as focussed experience in the fields of environment viz., corporate trainings at plant level to C-Suite level on Sustainability, sustainability reporting, CSR, implementation of management systems implementation and outcome measurement, SRoI, execution and planning of CSR management programmes.
