Caetano Francis Martins born in Tanga on August 26, 1924.
Appointed as Portuguese Consul for the then Tanganyika now Tanzania and
stationed in Dar es Salaam, the capital, from 1947 to 1970. Later he and his
family emigrated to Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
He married Lydia nee Goudinho (the daughter of the well known Norman
Goudinho of Kampala, Uganda. They have three children viz. Charleen who
married Tim Turner, Sonia who married Brandon Rose and Neil who is not yet
married. They have 4 grandchildren. All currently residing in British
Columbia, Canada.
Caetano died on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 4.30 p.m. at St.Vincent Langara
Nursing Home.
His wake will be held March 21, 2007 @ 7:30 p.m. at the Church of St.Peter &
St.Paul, Vancouver, B.C.
His funeral Mass will be held on March 22, 2007 @ 10a.m. at the Church of
St.Peter & St.Paul, Vancouver, B.C., following which he will be laid to rest
at Forest Lawn, Burnaby, B.C.
