Remembering Conceicao Luis Pereira,Ravrora Navelim He completes 3 years in the vineyard of the Lord on 5 August 2014.He was a well-wisher of P.C.Trust,and a personal friend extending his voluntary assistance with love to me in various schools of my postings
He was very industrious businessman, busy, hardworking individual till his demise. He said rest was only a grave phenomenon. He was not driven by greed and avarice, but was guided by Christian values and ethics in his business dealings and ventures. He was blessed with enough resources to have exerted himself at the very old age, but work was his moto. Simple living, humility honesty and social service were his attire of personality traits. In fact his residence, if I recall correctly was spruced up soon after he passed away. He was given to austere living bereft of vulgar display of pompous amenities. He was firm in his belief and distinction. His relationships were very considerate, humane and he chose his words carefully in a dignified manner not to hurt the feelings, but to establish lasting bonds of friendship .I admired his attitude of walking to and fro from Margao to Navelim, which he considered a healthy exercise for his advance age. His day began with thanks giving to God by participating in Eucharistic celebrations, which provided him the sustenance in his daily chores I recall his broad involvement with LIONS CLUB OF NAVELIM in many a social activities and that he gave his unconditional best. He felt proud about various social activities for the upliftment and attending to select cases for redress in providing shelter and education. He actively associated with the Church bodies and his valuable contributions will not be lost on the villagers. Like everyone else he had his fair share of personal disappointments, but he took it in his stride with faith, without blaming, cursing anyone He left a trail, a well beaten path for those who wish to follow. Such unsung heroes do not get wide publicity, because during their waking life they shun it conscientiously. Nevertheless he lives a mark in the hearts and minds of people he touched Nelson Lopes .,Chinchinim
